Linda is a contributing member of the gallery at the Centre in Elliot Lake and has been making and teaching art since 1975 when she moved to Northern Ontario. Since then, her award-winning work has been included in exhibitions throughout Canada, USA, Japan and Mexico. Linda has become an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters of Water Colour, the Ontario Society of Artists, the Society of Canadian Artists and the Northern Ontario Arts Association. Using paint, paper, found materials and textiles to express her ideas, Linda make ususual pieces that are inspired by nature but also reflect her love of language.

Joanne is a contributing member of the Gallery at the Centre in Elliot Lake and was inspired by her grade 7 art teacher and developed a love for the creative in many media. Through high school and her teaching career, she was encouraged by many to develop her own skills alongside her students. She explored fibre art/weaving in the 1970's; clay in the early 1980's; stained glass from 1987 to 2005 with works displayed throughout Canada, USA, Australia and China. Today, her focus is on exploring colour, texture, line and shape using acrylic, water colour, and sculptures from Mother Earth's found treasures.

"JESSICA" AN ETCHING BY ANNE PICHETTE

Anne is a contributing member of the Gallery at the Centre in Elliot Lake and is interested in recognizing the value of interior structures without which exteriors cannot exist. With the support of canvas, traditional landscape painting has always highlighted paint, but in Anne's mixed-media landscapes the emphasis is on the potential of canvas. Born in Toronto Anne grew up on a farm in Lee Valley, Ontario where she learned love and respect for nature. She received art training at Sheridan College in Brampton and at UBC in Vancouver.

STAINED GLASS "RISING SUN" BY ANNE MCFARLAND

Anneis a contributing member of the Gallery at the Centre in Elliot Lake and has been in love with stained glass most of her life and made her first piece at the age of 11 or 12 out of electrical tape and glass. She has been a fan ever since. Anne has been working with stained glass for the last 5 years and resides in Elliot Lake.

Alexandra B. Gunther is a contributing member of the Gallery at the Centre in Elliot Lake and her creations are inspired by those wonders of the earth - copper, brass, silver, and different stones. Her teacher was her late father, Rudolf Guenther and the necklace shown here is one of his pieces. She continues to represent his collection as well as produce her own beautiful jewellery in her studio here in Elliot Lake where she lives. Alexandra has also taught art history at White Mountain Academy and at Arscura (training art therapists) and has given workshops and seminars in Toronto and in Elliot Lake. She has an M.A. in Art History and a BLS and is a lifelong student of anthroposophy.

Gail is a contributing member of the Gallery at the Centre in Elliot Lake and learned to weave after moving to Elliot Lake in 1997. Although best known for her oversized tea towels, (as shown here) Gail also loves to work on other projects. Experiments with unusual colour combinations and yarns have produced some unique one-of-a-kind items. Her respect for nature and the environment has resulted in the use of many of the environmentally-friendly fibres such as bamboo from which this scarf is woven.
